Padauk brings the deep burgundy. Maple brings the pale, tight-grained contrast. Oak fills the middle — warm, open-grained, and unmistakable up close. Laid in horizontal stripes with ladder-column borders running the full length of each side, this board is not a pattern applied to wood. It is a pattern made of wood.

Every strip was cut, fitted, glued, and finished by a combat wounded Army veteran who started making boards as a way to heal after service. That origin has not changed. Every board that leaves this workshop carries the same intention it started with — make something worthy of the person receiving it.

Padauk is one of the most visually striking hardwoods available. It starts deep orange-red and deepens to a rich burgundy over time with light exposure — meaning this board will look better in five years than it does on day one. Maple is one of the hardest domestic hardwoods. Oak adds warmth and open grain texture that catches light differently than the tighter species around it.

Hand wash with warm soapy water. Do not soak, submerge, or dishwasher. Dry immediately. Re-oil every 4–6 weeks with food-safe mineral oil or beeswax board cream. Keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight.
